Up here in Todtnauberg, at 1,000 metres, we live in the middle of nature – and that’s exactly how we treat it. Sustainability isn’t a buzzword for us, but a collection of many small, concrete decisions we make every day. Some you’ll spot right away, many work quietly in the background.
So you can see what really lies behind it all, we’re showing it to you openly here – with the measures we take, honest progress updates and the goals we’ve set ourselves.

What we already put into practice

This is everyday life at our hotel

Energy: We rely on renewable energy and energy-efficient heating technology.
Buying regionally: Many of our foods come from the surrounding region – that means short delivery routes and a freshness you can taste.
Less single-use: We avoid single-use products wherever we can.
A garden full of life: We design our outdoor areas close to nature – with sheltered spots for insects and birds.
Built to last, not to replace: We deliberately choose toys and furnishings with a long life ahead of them.
Water & resources: We treat what nature gives us with care.

You won’t notice all of it at first glance – but you’ll feel it in the details.

Where we want to go next

Standing still isn’t our thing. That’s why we’ve set ourselves 15 sustainability goals of our own, which we’ll be tackling step by step over the next two years.

This is our way forward – honestly, we haven’t arrived everywhere yet, but the direction is clear. And where something isn’t running perfectly yet, we’re working on it.

KLIMAWIN

We take part in the KLIMAWIN initiative of the state of Baden-Württemberg. Within this initiative, we work on specific measures in these areas:

Energy & climate protection – renewable energy and efficient heating systems
Waste & resources – using materials consciously, reusing instead of throwing away
Biodiversity & natural habitat – a near-natural garden as a habitat for insects and birds
